How IdentityWA, INKA & Kellett Design Group are Changing the Landscape.

IdentityWA, Zorzi Group, INKA and Kellett Design Group have teamed up on a project to design and construct six sustainable and energy-efficient homes for individuals with disabilities using innovative passive housing construction methods.

This partnership aims to address the shortage of accessible housing in the Perth metropolitan area while providing well-designed, modern and fully accessible homes for individuals with disabilities.

The houses will be constructed in a state-of-the-art facility in Perth and designed to be energy-efficient and sustainable, utilising off-site manufacturing techniques to shorten build times and make the construction process more efficient.

The houses will feature closed-panel construction designed by Perth’s leading passive house designer Luke Kellett, at Kellett Design Group. The design will allow these houses to be built with lower living costs and expenses, leaving more funds available for the care and well-being of the residents.

The homes will also incorporate features and space layouts for people with disabilities to meet the NDIS Standards for Improved Liveability and will be energy efficient and sustainable in terms of design, construction, and materials.

This amazing project by IdentityWA, Zorzi Group, INKA and Kellett Design Group, with funding from the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), is located in the suburb of Koondoola in Perth, Western Australia.

The project is an important step towards creating more sustainable living options for people with disabilities in Perth.

These two units have been designed with passive energy principles, ensuring they are comfortable to live in all year round while minimising energy consumption.

Each unit offers spacious 3 bedrooms, 3/4 bathrooms, R2.0 insulation, 120mm timber frame, single glazed aluminium windows and Tyvek Weatherproof Membrane & Tape Flashings.

The house’s exterior is made of James Hardie Zero Lot Walls R1.8 and James Hardie Axon, providing a modern and durable finish.

The homes have been specifically designed to cater to the needs of people with disabilities, with wide doorways and hallways, level entry and wheelchair accessibility in mind.

The homes are located in Koondoola, a suburb known for its strong NDIS community and easy access to amenities such as shops, parks, and public transport.

The units are close to IdentityWA, a respected not-for-profit organisation supporting people with disabilities and their families.

These amazing homes offer style, comfort, and low energy consumption and cater to the specific needs of those with disabilities.
